Jo Q. Nelson I asked 5 people to meet in a public space, chosen by them. I asked for referrals from friends or approached people I’d met before. We had conversations about their definitions of public; their positive encounters, the problems, their anecdotes, their observations about other uses of the spaces, and their comparisons between New York and other major cities. For this exhibit, I made pieces that borrow the metaphors and insights of the people I spoke with. If you are interested in telling me about a space you love or hate, please email me: jo “at” joqnelson.com. |
